Someone filmed and uploaded some fabulous footage of wildlife in action at a national park in South Africa. In the 8 minute clip, a pride of lions attack a herd of buffalo and captured a calf. A crocadile then attempts to take the calf from the lions, but the lions manage to hang onto it. Then the herd of buffalo return and, amazingly, save the calf who seemingly rises from the dead to return to the herd. My heart pounds just watching it -- can't imagine what it must've been like in person!

Re: Battle at Kruger National park
Thu, June 14, 2007 - 3:22 PMNo! You're kidding right? How in the world? That's incredible! Well, if indeed the videographer of this magnificent footage is the self-same individual who is your father, then please send him my highest acclaims -- this is some of the most fantastic amateur wildlife footage I think I've ever seen. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought it was STAGED in order to .. you know.. publicize the "adventurousness" of the park or whatever.
Bravo to your dad! ;-) -

Re: Battle at Kruger National park
Fri, June 15, 2007 - 6:42 AMno, i'm not kidding at all. he was actually mentioned in the article that's up on time.com right now. blew my mind when i found out about all of this, as i've seen it before but as part of their complete video of their africa trip. what's funny is they initially contacted nat geo to see if they would be interested in the footage, and were told no that no one would be interested in it... thus it made it's way to youtube instead....
