Fri, July 4, 2008 - 10:25 PMfrom a third party perpective: you all trashed your environment and it bit you back. while 4 quarters is having its troubles with bad press, negative energy between the owners, and trying to adapt its facilities to handle higher population capacity - I feel it might be best to work with the limitations and help the place adapt rather than turn your back on it. In my opinion 4 quarters has made gaian mind what it is - without its willingness to support your endeavors gaian mind would not be what it is today. so to snub them would be to snub yourselves. I am so glad i had made other plans that weekend and play my own show. I know that if i were there i would have been completely disgusted by the wanton abuse of Gaia and the disrespect that was shown to that magical place.
seems what i expect gaian mind to achieve is far greater than a bunch of dirty ravers that have no respect for the areas that they frequent. all things unclean are unsatisfactory. -

Sat, July 5, 2008 - 8:55 AMOMG this is funny, yes the party @ the black sea is a great idea, how ever geting there may be just a bit costly and 4q is just one state away also after my 6th year i dont think that any other place can deliver the overall feeling that 4q provides, plus you cant just turn your back on it over some bs like shit in the water, i think if people would pay more attantion to how they do and simply cleanup after them self it would be a good start. as far as im concerned 4q is the place for me and i wouldnt change it for nothing. as far as the small problem we had with people geting sick that is something we need to fix but not turn away. cheers -

Also- the crowd at gaian mind is one of the most respectable festival go-ers i've ever encountered, so to blame us for 'trashing' the land and causing the sickness is really audacious. -

Tue, July 29, 2008 - 9:50 AMi agree .. my opinions were most bodacious. to have patrons worrying about who and how all the litter was going to get cleaned up is still pretty damn disturbing to me. failure to plan is a plan to fail. trashcans, recycling bins, and a clean up crew is pretty cheap. and im not above spearheading a plan like that. this is the first year ive heard any complaints about the state of the area after the show. but your right ... i didnt experience it. -

Tue, July 29, 2008 - 1:59 PMWhy does it disturb you that patrons are expected to take out what they bring in? That's always been the policy, even when recycling is offered. All trash is the patron's responsibility and was clearly stated as such.
If you'd like to join the other volunteers of the trash or recycling crews next year, we would definitely appreciate your help.
