I absolutely LOVED the Psychedelic theater and the hula hoop workshop. I learned a lot of awesome moves. I apologize, but I can't remember the name of the hula-hoop instructor. Thanks if you post on here! Also, on Friday night I experienced seeing a faerie down around where I camped. I saw faeries the last time I went to the 4QF in 2006. If you know anything about faeries, they are rather hard to run into because they're very fast.

Now state at least one POSITIVE thing that happened to you.

    Hey Jenn!
That hooping instructor is our very own Boston Hoop Troop's Marria Kee! And yes she is an awesome being. You can check her (and the rest of us) out at bostonhooptroop.com/

I was at the workshop as well. I was the DJ that kept running back and forth from doing the set to my hula-hoop (so hard to resist!!) ha ;)
I'm so glad you enjoyed the workshop!

And speaking of hooping and the PsyCinema, one of my favorite moments at Gaian Mind might have been hooping IN the PsyCinema Saturday night. During the thunderstorm, I became separated from my friends, and eventually took refuge from the rain there...sitting quietly amongst the lounging strangers for quite some time before a killer track came on and I got up the gusto to break out the hoop in front of everyone. As I began to move to this awesome slick downtempo track, the silver tape on my hoop picked up the Red/Green/Blue projector lights separately and spun them like sparks, bringing me into a really smooth trance-like state that just lasted and lasted for the rest of the night and into the morning.

Big ups to the PsyCinema folks for that fabulous environment indeed!

Wow - sooo many positive notes!

I had a grrrrrrrrreat time. I enjoyed everything, from the amazing deco, great vendor area, meeting new sparkly friends, going to workshops, seeing Daniel Pinchbeck speak (again), doing two sweat lodges, dancing to the best music evaaaaa.....volunteering at the coffee dragon, swimming in the creek...the rain storm, the entire time was magical and lovely.

          So grateful!

Jenn, thank you for this thread for positive reflections.
i think we are all kind of overwhelmed with the plague for the moment..... (actually i might have to take a break from typing this to run to the broom....)

when i truthfully look back upon everything that i had arThowed that wonderful weekend, the positive far outweighs any negative.
this was my first Gaian Mind, and i'm very glad i had went.
even my ride in both directions had totally worked out!

who was doing those really cool projections on widely spread sheets?

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can definitely count on me for any help! picking up a few bags of trash at the end is THE LEAST we can do!

    OH YAY!

Jenn, I'm so glad you enjoyed the Hooping Workshop! It was definitely one of the highlights of the festival for me ~ to be surrounded by so many of my favorite people & some wonderful new people & what a better way to pass the time than to HOOP!

Every Gaian Mind has had its ups & downs, and this one was no exception. But the highlights DEFINITELY outweigh the struggles & that's what always makes it worth it.

Some of the most memorable moments for me were:
~ Driving down with Dave & being the first 2 people to arrive on Saturday afternoon. We were proud of that :)
~ Welding in the woods and having this 4Q guy drive by and say "Arc welding in the woods...at night????!!!!???" :)
~ Setting up deco in the North Crook while a bunch of GM staffers set up the dome while drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon :)
~ Making espresso for Steve-O & the gang of folks hanging the cargo nets :)
~ Sharing meals with friends at staff camp & LOVING Keith's delectable delights (and props to the other chefs)
~ THURSDAY NIGHT IN THE NORTH CROOK. Best addition to GM thus far. The music was right up my alley. LOVED IT! Also, I got to psi hoop with my girl, Lauren. Love you woman!!!
~ Psylab on Friday night. Dave & I laid on the dancefloor & fully immersed ourselves in the music & the environment. It was that moment that I realized we had finally *arrived*
~ Saturday morning main stage with Treavor & Solar Fields. Pat Karmakanik & Henshaw being their silly selves & discussing "faux pax" in the sweat lodge :)
    ~ Hooping Workshop!
    ~ Tony Unorthodox's set

Then Dave & I became deathly ill and were out of commission for the remainder of the festival. But we felt like we had our fair share of good times, so no worries. Shit happens.

I'm sure I forgot like eleventy-two other amazing times, so I'll just write more later ~ or Dave will sum them up in the epic review he's about the write :)

    LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!
